THE BREWSPAPER / FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT’S BAR

The Copper Bar by Frank Lloyd Wright, Bartlesville, OK
SPEND THE NIGHT WITH HISTORYThe only public house (aka bar that serves booze to the citizenry) that icon architect Frank Lloyd Wright ever designed in the U.S. sits atop the only high rise he ever completed.

Images here by Pillar to Post show the Copper Bar (after the décor) located 15 floors above the Oklahoma prairie.  This unique bar serves cocktails and pub menu cuisine as part of the 19-story [Harold C.] Price Tower, the Wright high rise in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Named for the wealthy oil industry family that commissioned Wright, the Price Tower today is a museum on the ground floor and a hotel, The Inn at Price Tower.
Completed in 1956, The Inn has 19 lofts with wrap around views designed by New York based architect Wendy Evans Joseph.  For the most part, the rooms reflect much of Wright’s original designs where possible.  It is worth the experience to be able to book a room in a Wright high rise.
Last year, the Price project was named a United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage site.
Now, you can sip a beer or enjoy a cocktail amid one of the world’s cultural wonders and most unique watering holes.
